Haskell assists with working your way up through the ranks, you’ll find new ways to use both your mind and your hands to get the job done.   Joining our Construction & Manufacturing Team will enable you to build the buildings on which people depend; collaborating with your team to overcome obstacles and fix problems on the job site using your skills. Strong networks are formed on construction projects because everyone on the team depends on each and every team member to get the job done.   In this role as directed by the Project Superintendent, you will be responsible for the supervision of selected phases of a project and for obtaining successful cost results in labor and general materials purchases for assigned project(s).   Job Responsibilities: - Takes responsibility for designated phase or scope for a construction project - Coordinates and directs trades for those phases or scopes, including subcontractors - Plans and develops construction techniques and methods such as formwork and temporary structures, materials handling, crew sizes and deployment, equipment requirements, and task sequences - Purchases general materials and requisitions rental equipment - Identifies and recommends outstanding workers for the Permanent Construction Employee (PCE) program and trains and develops assigned PCEs in preparation for their promotions - Advises management when extra work is requested by the owner or occasioned by job conditions beyond the original estimate or contract documents - Makes recommendations for hiring, firing, and disciplinary actions for project-based employees and subcontractors under your supervision; works to resolve conflicts and handles complaints - Completes performance reviews of assigned employees - Dependent on project type takes charge of layout and produces accurate line and grade for work; checks and verifies dimensions within the design drawings for each assigned phase of work; coordinates shop drawings - Responsible for day-to-day quality control for work under your supervision - Responsible for enforcing company safety and accident programs for the project - Sets the example, along with Superintendent, for proper dress and safety awareness - In the absence of the Superintendent, you are responsible for the overall management of the project Education/Experience: - High school graduate, with good verbal and written communication skills - A minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in the construction industry with at least one year of experience as a Craft Foreman - Understanding of applicable building codes and how to read design drawings is required Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications: - Good organizational and verbal communication skills; attention to detail - Ability to independently carry out detailed written and verbal instructions - Ability to provide effective verbal and written instructions - Good analysis and observation skills - Excellent troubleshooting abilities in tough situations - Must possess sound and deep knowledge about construction procedures and safety measures - Excellent delegation and time management skills - Must maintain current certification in First Aid and CPR - Maintains an OSHA 10-hour course certification that is current within the past three years - Ability to understand and execute the company vision and values of Team, Excellence, Service, and Trust Haskell offers a very robust and comprehensive benefits package! You will answer phones and direct callers to the appropriate staff member and manage delivery tickets & other documentation needing to be sent to the main office. You will also oversee the timesheets for field employees under the supervision of the Superintendent, place orders for supplies as directed, maintain a clean office environment, take meeting minutes as required and distribute as directed, make copies for distribution, maintain office files and documentation, update logs, and accept deliveries.   Job Responsibilities: - Work directly for the Superintendent. Work is generally administrative, project-oriented and will require the ability to comprehend and follow directions - Coordinate and organize a system to complete daily tasks required - Be courteous and professional with employees, our clients, subcontractors, vendors, and the public - Organize the office files, contracts, and submittals similar to the system used in the corporate office - Have the ability and knowledge to operate a computer and work with Microsoft programs such as Word and Excel, and use Microsoft Outlook. Use office equipment such as copiers, printers, scanners, label machines, etc. - Keep timesheets, weekly hours, and per diem for the field employees, email to Payroll weekly - Keep copies of all delivery tickets and determine if it will be a Major Purchase Order or a Field Purchase Order. You will also install pipes and ensure proper connection at pipe joints.   Job Responsibilities: - Align and position pipes to prepare them for connection - Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers - Cut pipes to required lengths. Connect pipe pieces and seal joints, using gasket material, mechanical (Bolted) restraint systems, or various types of adhesive solvents. Administers company policies and procedures fairly and consistently - Prepares Daily Report and communicates project activity to management (Project Manager and Director of Construction). - Purchases miscellaneous materials and requisitions equipment. Receives and maintains purchased materials and rented equipment - Reports, verifies, and documents to management extra work requested by the owner, or occasioned by job conditions, which are beyond the original estimate or contract documents - Responsible for the layout of accurate lines and grades for all work. Reviews project submittals. Checks and verifies dimensions within the design drawings, and as related to shop drawings - Verifies valid/current insurance of all on-site companies - Inspects for quality of both company-performed work and subcontractors' work and for compliance with engineered drawings. Resolves quality assurance deficiencies - Prepares Labor Cost Report.  Processes daily vendors' and subcontractors' invoices and delivery tickets.  Conducts weekly subcontractor progress meetings - Initiates all jobsite safety and accident prevention efforts.
