The Construction & Manufacturing Team supports all of Haskell’s delivery groups across the company and the projects throughout the United States. The Construction & Manufacturing Team is responsible for providing the field management personnel, from the craft worker to the Project Superintendent. The Construction & Manufacturing Team also provides the team member with logistical support; including but not limited to establishing per diem rates, company trucks for superintendents, and the coordination of arrival for team members as needed on the project. The Construction & Manufacturing Team provides continual training for our team members to support their development from entry-level craft workers, via in-house/online courses, to local jurisdiction apprenticeship programs. Scope of Position  

The Commissioning Technical Lead II – Mission Critical ensures all systems, equipment, rooms, components, and structures are installed, tested, and operate according to project specifications, industry standards, and best practices. This role mentors and trains new staff and technicians assigned to the project while maintaining high emphasis on maintaining customer satisfaction. 

 

Job Responsibilities 

  • Owns reviewing drawings, specifications, Sequence of Operations, and design specifications to create testing documents for commissioning testing requirements. 
  • Owns the development of System Start Up Matrices to assist with schedule development with the Project Managers for their specified disciplines. 
  • Owns building out the commissioning software with the correct dependencies for proper tracking and equipment/system turn over. 
  • Owns schedule integration into the commissioning software to assist with Key Project Indicators. 
  • Runs commissioning meetings with subcontractors to ensure proper project turnover. 
  • Tracks commissioning issues for quick and efficient closure. 
  • Mentoring and leading junior engineers. 
  • Key contact for field coordination and client needs. 
  • Responsible for verification in the field and commissioning software that all deliverables are uploaded, filled out accurately, and field installations meet the design requirements. 
  • Key communication point for needed project deliverables. 
  • Travel as required. 
  • Other duties which may be assigned as needed. 
  • May supervise others. 

 

Education & Years of Experience 

Bachelor’s degree in any engineering field and 4 years of experience in commissioning preferred, or a combination of education and experience. 

 

Qualifications 

  • Advanced knowledge of the commissioning processes and procedures for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing. 
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, communications and analytical skills. 
  • Ability to train, coach, and lead staff. 

 

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, team members may be required to visit alternate locations, and therefore must have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to do so. This position requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The team member is frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
