The Construction & Manufacturing Team supports all of Haskell’s delivery groups across the company and the projects throughout the United States. The Construction & Manufacturing Team is responsible for providing the field management personnel, from the craft worker to the Project Superintendent. The Construction & Manufacturing Team also provides the team member with logistical support; including but not limited to establishing per diem rates, company trucks for superintendents, and the coordination of arrival for team members as needed on the project. The Construction & Manufacturing Team provides continual training for our team members to support their development from entry-level craft workers, via in-house/online courses, to local jurisdiction apprenticeship programs. Haskell assists with working your way up through the ranks, you’ll find new ways to use both your mind and your hands to get the job done.


In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating and welding structural components used in buildings and bridges. You will utilize your knowledge of metal properties, geometry, and welding techniques to lay out, fit, and assemble structural parts, contributing to the success of complex projects.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Plan layouts and select equipment for welding operations, applying an understanding of weld shrinkage and machining properties.
  • Lay out, align, and secure components using bolts, clamps, and tack welding.
  • Operate arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, and gas welding equipment to weld parts.
  • Assemble parts via bolting or riveting and perform repairs by dismantling and reshaping components using tools like cutting torches and straightening presses.

To thrive in this role, you'll need:

  • Experience: Four years of relevant experience in welding and fabricating, with proper certifications.
  • AWS (American Welding Society) certification
  • MIG Welding
  • Shielded metal arc welding
  • Carbon Air arcing
  • Oxy-fuel cutting
  • Grinding
  • Familiarity with weld quality standards and steel fabrication safety procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage workflow efficiently.
  • Good verbal communication skills for effective teamwork.

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift/move light to medium weights (10-50 lbs).
  • Good hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and visual acuity to operate equipment and read documentation.
  • Frequent communication through talking and hearing.
