Haskell Steel is a full-service, AISC-certified structural and miscellaneous steel fabricator. Created in the 1970s with a five-man crew working in the corner of a warehouse, Haskell Steel has grown to a 50-plus-person operation using state-of-the-art technology on a 30-acre campus and 100,000 square feet of facility space and is considered an industry leader. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of fabricated steel by reviewing design documents, inspecting materials, overseeing production processes, and performing final inspections. The Dimensional Checker will work closely with the production team to ensure that all fabricated steel is in compliance with design and specification requirements, and that it meets the highest quality standards. Job Responsibilities:

  • Review design documents to ensure compliance with client specifications and industry standards
  • Inspect incoming steel materials to confirm compliance with specifications
  • Oversee production processes to ensure that steel is fabricated in accordance with design and specifications
  • Conduct final inspections of fabricated steel to confirm quality and compliance with design and specifications
  • Ensure that the correct coatings are applied to fabricated steel
  • Manage shipping logistics to ensure that fabricated steel is shipped on the correct amount of trucks

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience within the structural fabrication industry
  • Quality Control experience preferred

Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications:

  • Strong knowledge of quality control process and procedures
  • Experience reviewing design documents and ensuring compliance with specifications
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify potential quality issues
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations to structural fabrication
  • Ability to understand and execute the company vision and values of Team, Excellence, Service, and Trust

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:

 

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
