You will prepare and assemble full project manuals when requested.   Job Responsibilities: - Works with Design Project Managers (DPMs) and Project Architects (PAs) in the preparation of specifications and development of complete scope Project Manuals. - Leads the specification effort for the architectural discipline (CSI Divisions 00 thru 14). - Leads specification kick-off meetings with the DPM and the PA. - Coordinates subsequent specification meetings with project teams as appropriate. - Supports research of new materials / products / assemblies / systems needed for project. - Participates in project design reviews during Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Document phases, as appropriate.Oversees specification research and development, assuring coordination and compliance with drawings, for accuracy and completeness. - Confirms schedules for deliverables (interim and final) with DPMs. - Coordinates with project Construction Contract Administrators and PAs to ensure the appropriate formatting and inclusion of specifications from other disciplines in-house and third-party consultants, as well as the securing of necessary professional seals. - Works with DPMs and PAs to prepare narratives for new and/or modified specifications for addenda. - Works with Construction Contract Administrators, Project Directors and/or DPMs in the preparation of new and/ or revised specifications in support of changes to the Contract. - Mentors Haskell team members in their growth as design professional regarding specification development. Reinforces the role of specifications as the other half of the “instruments of service” for FFS (Fee-for-Service) projects and as key component of design-build projects. - Participates in the Haskell Specification Council by contributing to its movement towards common practice (Including, but not limited to processes, formats, and templates). - Travel as required. - Other duties which may be assigned as needed. Education/Experience: - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. - 10+ years producing architectural design documents with a minimum of 3 years of experience responsible for project manuals. As an employee-owned company with an ownership culture, we work together for the benefit of our clients and each other.   In this role, you will be responsible for estimating the HVAC, Plumbing & Fire Protection scopes of work for various market segments, at different stages of design of Design Build & CMAR preconstruction projects.   You will participate in preconstruction meetings while working closely with Preconstruction Team and Designers.   Job Responsibilities: - Pre-Estimate - Participate in design review meetings. - Participate in the Estimate Plan meeting. - Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate. - Ability to determine the level of resources required to estimate your assigned scope(s) of work. - Estimate Development - Estimate HVAC, Plumbing & Fire Protection scopes of work at various stages of design. - Develop HVAC, Plumbing & Fire Protection scope general requirements. - Work with the master estimate format for the project, including but not limited to, work breakdown structures (WBS), forecasted wage rates, etc. - Review the construction project schedule. - Develop detailed scope of work clarifications. - Participate in pre-bid site visits as required. - Participate in estimate reviews. - Contribute to Design & Value Engineering Options on a basis of cost, schedule, and constructability. Provide recommendation on best solution. - Ability to identify risk issues and their order of magnitude. - Develop project specific RFI’s. - Subcontractor Management - Assist in preparation and review final bid packages to ensure accuracy and completeness, prior to formal quotation. - Build and maintain subcontractor relationships. - Develop overarching subcontractor search and communication strategy.   Ensure that at least three (3) quotes are received per bid package, unless otherwise agreed to by the Pricing Lead. - Verifies that only qualified subcontractors are considered in final subcontractor selection. - Meet with local subcontractors as needed. - Identify subcontractors who have a competitive advantage and develop key relationships to employ those advantages. - Work with the Business Diversity Coordinator when proposing on federal or public sector agency projects. - Maintain strong, supportive relationships with our internal and external clients by providing outstanding customer service. - Participate in design scope reviews throughout the preconstruction progression. - Post Estimate - Participate with the development of the project budget development. - Participate in scope review meetings, if applicable. - Assists in subcontractor selection. - Participate in lessons learned meeting at project close. - May assist the Project Management team with change orders. - Follow projects during construction by site visits and various meetings to track cost accuracy. - Database Management - Assist with maintaining historical cost data. Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current (accurate) information on prices from suppliers through direct contact, price lists, etc. - Assist with the maintenance of the preferred subcontractor database. - Assist with the maintenance of the bid forms and bid packages database. - Training - Train Preconstruction Team Members and other personnel as needed. - Assist with the development and maintenance of training program. - Travel - Meet with local subcontractors, attends bid walks, project site visits and attends conferences as necessary. - Approximate travel time required, 10-25% - Miscellaneous - Must possess strong communication skills. - Proven experience with Design-Build and CMAR project delivery methods - Perform other duties as assigned. Education/Experience: - Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or accredited construction related curriculum preferred or 15 years of related experience in the construction industry. - Minimum of 5 years of estimating experience. - Experience in various market segments, Federal preferred. - Experience in estimating, scheduling, budget/cost control, construction, external & internal client relationships, strong subcontractor & vendor relationships/knowledge, computer skills, interpersonal skills. The Construction & Manufacturing Team is responsible for providing the field management personnel, from the craft worker to the Project Superintendent. The Construction & Manufacturing Team also provides the team member with logistical support; including but not limited to establishing per diem rates, company trucks for superintendents, and the coordination of arrival for team members as needed on the project. The Construction & Manufacturing Team provides continual training for our team members to support their development from entry-level craft workers, via in-house/online courses, to local jurisdiction apprenticeship programs. Strong networks are formed on construction projects because everyone on the team depends on each and every team member to get the job done.   In this role, you will be responsible for the layout and fit of structural and miscellaneous fabricated products.   Job Responsibilities: - Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining weld shrinkage, and welding techniques - Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together - Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding - Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment. - May assemble parts by bolting - May repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, using a cutting torch, straightening press, and hand-tools Education/Experience: - 4 years of experience - Certification in Tack Welding required - Prefer Welding Certification in 3G position Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications: - Rate information using standards that can be measured or checked - Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy - Look at flat drawings, pictures, and blueprints and visualize how they would look as solid objects with height, width, and depth - See detail in objects or drawings and recognize slight differences in shapes or shadings - Work easily and skillfully with hands - Ability to read shop drawings - Ability to comprehend weld procedures and weld symbols - Regular attendance, prompt and dependable - Ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions independently - Ability to perform moderate physical work, may be required to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly, climbing up on and balance on ladders, scaffolding, or stairs; performing such activities as bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting and graphing for up to five (5) hours without sitting - Ability to see well (either naturally or with correction); use hands and arms to reach for, grasp, and manipulate objects - Able to work both indoors and outdoors.
