The Industrial Water Market is a niche business requiring dedicated expertise in this field of practice. Our experience has shown that a key differentiator in developing business with our clients is, as an EPC contractor, the ability to identify the correct treatment solutions and demonstrate our expertise in implementing said solutions. We find that our clients either have little treatment system knowledge or are well-versed in treatment systems. As a result, the input from a Strategic Industry Advisor is key to collaborating with our clients to help them navigate through the maze of potential solutions and make informed decisions.
In this position, you will work with the Industrial Water Market leader in providing specific market expertise of the market, implementing plans and policies to achieve overall corporate and project objectives, and ensuring profitability. The Strategic Industry Advisor - Industrial Water is a recognized expert and key decision maker in the market segment who supports the business development, marketing, and project execution teams.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Initial interface with the client at the onset to channel communications- phase in traditional design, meetings after establishing unified direction
- Collaborating with Market Leader, Design Managers, Project Directors, and clients to foster complete concepts, minimization of rework and Value Engineering Processes, and high client satisfaction
- Leading business development market-specific presentations and support project execution teams by providing detailed background information and supporting the development of presentation strategy
- Presenting at industry events and Haskell technical summits. Actively share knowledge and develop team members
- Partnering with and Support Market/Division Leader with client acquisition activities, market research, and client targeting strategy
- Directing and assisting the Business Development teams across markets on strategy and implementation of client outreach, correspondence, selling techniques, and presentations
- Supporting the Business Development and marketing team in proposal development, digital presence, trade show participation, and materials and marketing strategy implementation
- Leading market-specific presentations and support project execution teams by providing detailed background information and developing presentation strategy
- Coordinating with Engineering Leadership to identify required technical competencies and assist in creating a strategy to address specific project needs
- Supporting Project Directors with pursuit development and capture strategy or lead initial pursuit depending on project size
- Assisting the Market Leader in developing and implementing the market business plan and strategy
- Maintaining recognized expert status for the identified market segment.
- Travel as required
- Other duties may be assigned as needed
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or other relevant Engineering
- 15+ years of experience
To thrive in this role, you'll need:
- This position requires a sound working knowledge of primary, secondary, and tertiary treatment technologies as well as treatment system hydraulics.
- A thorough understanding of the application of alternative treatment processes is paramount to working with both our clients and our project teams in developing cost-effective and robust treatment system solutions.
- Working knowledge of wastewater permitting requirements at the federal, state, and local levels is required
- Exhibit strong water and wastewater treatment technical skills, including primary treatment (e.g., physical / chemical processes), secondary treatment (e.g., biological processes, biological nutrient removal), and tertiary treatment (i.e., membrane processes, disinfection, and water recycle) processes as well as residuals management (e.g., digestion and dewatering)
- Exhibit an advanced level of client confidence as measured by client feedback, survey process, and internal observation
- Knowledge and communication skillset to bridge technical and operational contexts.

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information.
