This opportunity is with Haskell's Government Design group which offers design services to federal clients such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Federal Aviation Administration, U.S. Air Force, NAVFAC, and more. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects such as command headquarters, training facilites, office buildings, housing facilities, fitness centers, and more. We work collaboratively and strategically with our clients to deliver innovative and sustainable facilities and spaces that support the sensitive, 24/7 nature of their missions.

 

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing complete structural system design of various building/construction types of varying complexity.
  • Coordinating work with other disciplines. Performing interdisciplinary coordination checks to minimize deficiencies, errors and omissions in drawings and specifications.
  • Performing site visits and preparing observation/follow-up phase reports documenting progress and deficiencies.
  • Reviewing structural testing and inspection reports. Responding to project RFIs and reviews construction shop drawing submittals.
  • Assist in preparing budgets with the discipline lead for structural work on prospects/proposals, monitors design progress and budget utilization, and completes project within the stated fee. 
  • Directing technical efforts of junior engineers, designers, technicians, and/or interns assigned to their projects. Mentoring team members within the structural discipline.
  • Participating in a collaborative and professional team environment.

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
  • Structural Engineer (S.E.) license (preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience with federal government projects
  • Working knowledge of Unified Facilities Criterai (UFC) and Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS)
  • Working knowledge of U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) antiterrorism and security engineering principles (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, RAM Structural System, ETABS, RISA, and SAP2000 (preferred)
  • Master's Degree focused in Structural Engineering (preferred)

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:

 

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information.
