In this role, you will aid a team of preconstruction professionals in developing internal estimates, engage with subcontractors, analyze bids, and compile estimates. 

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Background in Steel Shop Materials & Labor Estimation (Preferred)
  • Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings and understanding specifications
  • Ability to understand owner/engineer requirements with the conceptual ability to work with minimal information
  • Knowledge of construction, materials systems, market conditions, and trade practices
  • Knowledge of estimating software (preference for Bluebeam, OnScreen Take-Off, etc.)
  • Knowledge of 3D software (AutoCAD, TrueView, Solid Works, Design Review, Navisworks)
  • Excellent computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite programs
  • Detailed and deadline-oriented, well-organized, and able to prioritize
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good work ethic and time management skills
  • Detailed oriented and self-motivated
  • Able to work in a high-volume environment
  • Excellent oral and written skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal clients, external clients, and vendors

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • Preferred Bachelor’s degree in accredited construction-related curriculum
  • 2 to 5 Years estimating in a Steel Shop Environment
  • Experience in estimating, scheduling, client relationship, computer skills, interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to train others and monitor their work for quality and completeness
  • Knowledge of industry-standard bid practice

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:

 

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
