Overview

In this role, you will autonomously manage complex, technology-driven projects from inception to fruition. Expertise is crucial in masterfully orchestrating a broad spectrum of project-related responsibilities. This includes engaging with key stakeholders to meticulously gather and document project requirements, devising detailed functional design documents, comprehensive test plans and scripts, as well as overseeing rigorous quality assurance testing procedures.

 

This role is responsible for spearheading user acceptance testing and collaborating intimately with project teams to assess and mitigate the impact on various business units, crafting bespoke communication and training materials to facilitate seamless transitions. Integral to this position is the ability to uphold project governance standards, requiring expert level proficiency in navigating Enterprise Portfolio Management (EPM) tools, templates, and processes to ensure the highest levels of project excellence and delivery.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Business Analysis
    • Liaise between the business and information technology organization in order to define functional and technical solutions to meet end user, business, and ongoing operational needs.
    • Utilize experience and/or organizational knowledge to serve as an integral participant in the business process redesign and documentation for new or changing technology.
    • Document agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business and information technology from initial requirements to final implementation.
    • Create or participate in the development of materials used to facilitate the adoption of change by end users including policies and procedures; operational and business processes; training materials, end user guides and communications.
    • Educate impacted parties on enhanced functionality through training and communication, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Quality Assurance Analysis & Testing
    • Support holistic testing efforts for multiple projects and software releases, including integration, system, regression, performance, and user acceptance testing.
    • Develop and execute test plans, cases, and scripts to ensure systems align to approved requirements.
    • Track quality assurance defects, working with IT staff to resolve defects, track test case results, and provides metrics on testing progress.
    • Ensure test results are accurate, thorough, and appropriately documented.
  • Project Management
    • Manage multiple medium to large complex technology-related projects concurrently, leveraging advanced project management skills.
    • Manage project scope, budget, and timeline and acquire the necessary approval for change requests.
    • Collaborate with IT and business staff to develop and maintain the project schedule.
    • Work with functional managers across the organization, external parties and/or vendors to assure appropriate resourcing of projects.
    • Communicate project status to project stakeholders, decision makers, sponsors, and project team members.
    • Manage and update project data using the enterprise project portfolio management (PPM) application.
    • Coach and mentor Project Managers, ensuring a consistent and high standard of project management.
  • Act as a system administrator for PPM application and a subject matter expert (SME) for EPM tools, templates, and processes.
  • Conceptualize, implement, and/or optimize EPM tools, templates, and processes.
  • Provide feedback on IT tools, processes, and procedures to help improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization.
  • Travel as required.
  • Other duties which may be assigned as needed.

Education & Years of Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, or equivalent education or work-related experience. Five (5) or more years of experience in a project support role, ideally involving project management, business analysis, or quality assurance.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent analysis, problem-solving, collaboration, conflict management, and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to interact effectively with various levels of leadership.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products, primarily OneNote, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word, and Visio.
  • Demonstrated skill in managing project scopes, timelines, and budgets. Skilled in the use of project management software to manage projects, e.g., Microsoft Project, Daptiv PPM, CA PPM.
  • Ability to create structure and organize projects into a logical and intuitive manner.
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Project Management Professional (PMP), and/or Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) Certification preferred.

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:

 

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
