In this role, you will be responsible for the development and negotiation of favorable prices, terms, schedules and other provisions of purchase orders and subcontracts. 
  

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Purchase order administration/file maintenance 
  • Closeout for all procurement related activities and supplier management
  • Creating complex solicitations, supporting proposals, conducting price and cost analysis, negotiating price/cost and price/cost-related terms and other subcontract provisions   
  • Consulting with suppliers and analyzes suppliers’ operations to determine factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability and ability to meet required schedules  
  • Reviewing proposals and selects or recommends suppliers based on gathered information
  • Recommending improvements to procurement processes and procedures
  • Working on or placing orders with a value up to $500,000 USD
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent related experience.  Equivalent related experience is defined as having five to ten years of either procurement or engineering experience while assigned to a construction project “in the field”.

  • Good communication skills including verbal, written and interpersonal skills are essential for this position
  • Understanding of basic business principles such as contract language, bonds, insurance certificates, commercial terms and conditions, logistics and freight terms are all requirements within this position   
  • Specific licenses or certifications are not a prerequisite for this position

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:

 

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment, and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
