Our civil and structural engineers, environmental specialists and support professionals provide innovative and quality transportation solutions for our state, turnpike, municipal and private clients.

 

In this role, you will have entry-level responsibility as a design professional, for the production of innovative, appropriate, cost-effective designs, drawings, and specifications in their discipline for assigned projects. You will emerge as an independent resource and begin to coordinate work with other disciplines. You will work to fulfill experience requirements for eligibility to take a professional license exam.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in project strategy meetings within discipline, develops design concepts, and produces pricing and proposal presentation documents
  • Partnering with technical efforts of engineers, technicians, and interns assigned to the project
  • Preparing design for hydrology, hydraulics, site utilities, and erosion sediment control design approach
  • Assisting Licensed Professional in construction observation to monitor compliance with design intent, construction drawings, and observations. 
  • Identifying continued education opportunities to expand professional growth and advance the collective ability of the discipline

 

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • A desire to work on roadway/highway design projects for cities, municipalities, and state DOTs
  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering (Spring 2025 graduates)
  • Internship experience in civil engineering design
  • Exposure to Civil3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads, and/or InRoads
  • To pass the FE exam within 6 months of hire

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:

 

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment, and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
