The Sustainability Project Manager is a role within Haskell intended to support the promotion of sustainability throughout the enterprise including how facilities are designed and built, internal operations, and community outreach.

 

In this role, you will effectively manage the coordination and implementation of sustainability goals and requirements into a variety of building types and involves collaborating closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients from conceptual design through construction completion.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead sustainability efforts on projects as assigned.
  • Lead Integrated Design charrettes with clients, stakeholders, facility users, design teams, and construction team (as applicable).
  • Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, related end-user and project teams to develop and implement sustainable design principles and decarbonization strategies into project plans.
  • Evaluate project designs and develop strategies to optimize energy efficiency, water conservation, indoor air quality and reduce carbon emissions.
  • Edit specifications for inclusion of sustainability requirements.
  • Assess sustainable and decarbonization strategies for existing facilities.
  • Evaluate life-cycle costs of renewable energy systems and energy efficient technologies.
  • Manage third-party certification for multiple sustainable projects.
  • Stay informed on current local, state and national building g codes and sustainability standards.
  • May serve as a member or co-leader of the Sustainability Council as assigned.
  • Drives and reinforces common sustainability language across the company.
  • Support the management of sustainability documents/tools on the Haskell intranet.
  • Promotes sustainable operations with the company and outreach programs.
  • Support “Green” marketing efforts and assist in development of standard proposal language/documentation on sustainability.
  • Promote the communication of best practices across the enterprise.
  • Support Haskell’s reporting of sustainability metrics such as reduction in greenhouse gas emission, water conservation, and recycling for internal use and third-party sustainability rating systems.
  • Travel as required.

 

Education & Years of Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction, sustainable design, or a related field.
  • Ten (10) or more years of industry experience with emphasis on sustainably designed projects.

 

Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Accreditations

  • Sustainability Accredited Professional (LEED AP with Specialty, GGP, GPCP, or equivalent).

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:

 

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
