Our civil and structural engineers, environmental specialists and support professionals provide innovative and quality transportation solutions for our state, turnpike, municipal and private clients.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for the production of innovative, appropriate, cost-effective designs, drawings, and specifications. Professional Engineers must maintain license and sign/seal documents prepared under your supervision. Engineer Interns must be eligible for Professional Engineer licensure within 12 months.  

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in project strategy meetings within the discipline, develops design concepts and recommends systems, produces pricing and proposal presentation documents, and outlines specifications.
  • Production of well-organized, finished drawings of good appearance, accuracy, clarity, and correctness.
  • Coordinating work with other disciplines. Performs interdisciplinary coordination checks to minimize deficiencies, errors, and omissions in drawings and specifications.
  • Assisting Construction Project Managers, Superintendents, and Subcontractors in the interpretation and clarification of construction documents and response to requests for information.
  • Directing technical efforts of discipline interns, designers, technicians, and subordinate engineers assigned to the project.

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain within 12 months
  • Experience with geometric design, drainage design, construction sequencing and utility relocation coordination
  • Experience with roadway/highway design projects for cities, municipalities, and/or state DOTs
  • Working knowledge of Microstation, OpenRoads, and/or InRoads

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:

 

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
