The Construction & Manufacturing Team supports all of Haskell’s delivery groups across the company and the projects throughout the United States. The Construction & Manufacturing Team is responsible for providing the field management personnel, from the craft worker to the Project Superintendent. The Construction & Manufacturing Team also provides the team member with logistical support; including but not limited to establishing per diem rates, company trucks for superintendents, and the coordination of arrival for team members as needed on the project. The Construction & Manufacturing Team provides continual training for our team members to support their development from entry-level craft workers, via in-house/online courses, to local jurisdiction apprenticeship programs. Haskell assists with working your way up through the ranks, you’ll find new ways to use both your mind and your hands to get the job done.

 

As a Fitter/Welder Helper, you will assist Fitters and Welders in the fabrication of steel structures by positioning and aligning structural metal components. Your duties will include operating tools, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the work area remains organized.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Operate equipment such as punches, grinders, drills, saws, and oxy-fuel torches, along with other hand tools.
  • Clean the work area and restock supplies as needed.
  • Assist in lifting, positioning, and securing materials during the installation process.
  • Perform minor maintenance or cleaning of tools and equipment under the guidance of skilled craftspeople.
  • Perform other routine duties as directed by experienced personnel.
  • Safely operate overhead cranes and manually move, lift, and transfer materials.

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) materials weighing between 10-50 pounds.
  • Good hand-eye coordination, finger dexterity, and arm strength.
  • Visual acuity for operating equipment, reading forms, and using a keyboard.
  • Ability to sit, reach with arms, talk, and hear frequently while performing tasks.
