Our civil and structural engineers, environmental specialists and support professionals provide innovative and quality transportation solutions for our state, turnpike, municipal and private clients.

 

In this role, you will primarily be responsible for civil transportation/roadway design (including grading, stormwater management, utilities, pavements, roads, and bridges) and other civil engineering projects. You will maintain professional registration and sign/seal documents prepared under your supervision.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging in multiple project assignments and prioritize competing project demands
  • Leading project strategy meetings within the discipline, develops design concepts and recommends systems, produces pricing and proposal presentation documents, and outlines specifications
  • Identifiying the basis of design for roadway, signing, striping, traffic control, constructability, hydrology, hydraulics, utilities, and erosion sediment control design approach
  • Directing technical efforts of project engineers, designers, technicians, and/or interns assigned to the project
  • Sign and seal design documents when assigned as Professional of Record
  • Adviseing and assisting owners and contractors in the interpretation and clarification of construction documents and response to requests for information

To thrive in this role you will need:

  • Bachelor's and/or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • 10+ years of transportation design
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
  • Working knowledge of Microstation, OpenRoads, and/or InRoads

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:

 

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment, and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
